Because our (Thai) journalists will not naturally come to their sense and follow this story to the end by themselves.
Unlike BBC who follow the ADE651 closely over concern of their soldiers’ lifes, or CNN who report on Rohingya tirelessly out of their humanitarianism, the way our news reporter work are much much more passive than that.
They will report only what they’re told to. Living for too long in the comfortable of going to press conference, have some free snack, grab a press release, then come back to office and copy every single words from that PR paper, they don’t know any longer how to work (or think) professionally. All the authority need to do is keep repeating that the devices work, and that there’s no need for further investigation. Soon, reporters will found that there’s no new information lying around for them to easily pickup, and words of the Dr.Jessada will turn to be just a repeatedly annoying noise (no matter that it’s true and make logical sense). They’ll eventually forget about it and go back to Natan story.
That’s why we still need to tweet, blog, post, write, shout, or do what ever we can in our best capabilities, in order to make sure that this GT200 story won’t just fade away, like it used to happen with story of Takbai incident, war on drug, Rohingya, Santika, etc. The list just go on and on.
It’s not a choice for us to ignore this scale of logical error. It’s an ultimatum, do whatever we can to stop this madness, or live on as a member of a total rationally fail state.
We have no right to give up. This, is a moral duty for all of us.
